Each helicopter model has its own capacity, comfort level, and operating costs, which impact pricing:
- Robinson R44 – Seats 1 pilot + 3 passengers. A compact and fuel-efficient option perfect for small groups or couples. Great for short-range tours with minimal baggage.
- Eurocopter EC120 – Seats 1 pilot + 4 passengers, but we typically book this aircraft for 1 pilot + 3 guests to ensure comfort and stay within operational weight limits.
- Airbus AS350 and Bell 212 – Larger helicopters designed for higher altitudes and bigger groups, with more power, space, and payload—ideal for longer tours or remote landings. These aircraft come with significantly higher fuel, maintenance, and pilot certification requirements.
Note on landing tours: For experiences like Picnic on a Peak, we may need to limit the number of passengers due to weight and balance restrictions, especially when landing at higher elevations or with picnic gear. Safety always comes first—your pilot will assess conditions and determine the safest configuration for your tour.
