L R Helicopters runs helicopter air taxi flights from Springbank Airport in Calgary under a Transport Canada Air Operator Certificate for 703 (Air Taxi) operations. You book the whole helicopter with a certified pilot and fly on your schedule to airports, heliports, lodges, ski resorts and remote sites in Alberta and British Columbia.
What is a helicopter air taxi?
An air taxi is a charter flight booked for you alone or for your group. Airlines sell seats on a fixed schedule. We fly the helicopter where and when you need it. Many sites, such as lodges, work camps and mountain heliports, have no road access or a long drive. A helicopter skips both.

The Calgary Downtown Helipad is currently closed.

How many passengers fit
Capacity depends on the aircraft and on weight and balance. The Robinson R44 carries one pilot and three passengers. We ask for accurate passenger weights when you book, and extra fees can apply if limits are exceeded.
How to book an air taxi
- Send the quote form or call 403-286-4601 with your pickup point, destination, date, passenger count and weights.
- We reply within 24 hours with a quote and aircraft recommendation.
- We confirm the flight plan and meeting point. Arrive at least 10 minutes early for the safety briefing and bring photo ID.
Air taxi is part of our wider helicopter charter service, alongside aerial work. Our Safety Management System has run since 2012.
