Aerial Work
Aerial Work is the business of renting an entire aircraft and the necessary crew to perform a job or a specific task with no passengers on board.
Our Services
Aerial Gas Leak Detection
L R HELICOPTERS can provide single or multi engine aircraft, single pilot or multi crew configuration to fit the OAG requirements of your organization and clients.
Many of the world’s major natural gas transmission pipelines pass through undeveloped and sparsely populated areas, making it difficult and costly to implement the necessary, ground-based leak-detection programs.
However, due safety regulations and loss prevention, pipeline surveys must be completed on a routine and regular basis in order to locate and repair leaks. Leaking natural gas may lead to property loss and in rare cases, injury or death. Loss of product through undetected leaks dramatically reduces pipeline profitability; with estimated losses in excess of 15% per annum.
L R HELICOPTERS utilizes the best gas leak detection systems available to accommodate your client-specific requirements, including:
Our talented technical team is capable of translating the raw scanning data into any format you require. From packaging data into a report, or overlaying it on to satellite imagery, we are ready to assist you in maximizing your data and its presentation.
Aerial Inspection
L R HELICOPTERS provides rapid response to various developing situations. Damaged hydro plants, railways, roads, and waterways may lead to property loss and in some cases injury or death. Helicopter aerial inspections may prevent serious accidents if carried out rapidly during critical times helping you to make the right decision.
Visual inspection and video inspection including HD, UV, Corona, Thermographic and Radiometric are part of the helicopter aerial patrol services that L R HELICOPTERS will provide.
Many of the world’s major electrical power transmission lines pass through undeveloped and sparsely populated areas. Others go through built up areas, making it difficult and costly to implement the necessary, ground-based inspection programs. Loss of product through undetected damaged power lines dramatically reduces profitability.
L R HELICOPTERS utilizes the best power line inspection systems available on the market to accommodate your client-specific requirements.

Aerial Constructions
L R HELICOPTERS can provide single or multi engine aircraft, single pilot or multi crew configuration to cater to your client-specific experience.
Helicopters used to lift loads are sometimes referred to as aerial cranes. As aerial cranes, helicopters carry loads connected to long cables or slings in order to place equipment when other methods are not available or economically feasible.
When the job must be accomplished in remote or inaccessible areas, such as the tops of tall buildings or the top of a hill or mountain, far from the nearest road, or rugged terrain where vehicles aren’t able to reach, or where environmental concerns prohibit the buildings of roads, aerial cranes are often the most desirable forms of load transportation available.

Aerial Mapping and Aerial Surveys
L R HELICOPTERS can provide single or multi engine aircraft, single pilot or multi crew configuration to cater to your client-specific requirements.
Aerial survey is a method of collecting geomatics or other imagery by using airplanes, helicopters, UAVs, balloons or other aerial methods. Typical types of data collected are aerial photography, LiDAR, remote sensing (using various visible and invisible bands of the electromagnetic spectrum, such as infrared, gamma, or ultraviolet) and also geophysical data (such as aeromagnetic surveys and gravity. It can also refer to the chart or map made by analyzing a region from the air. Aerial survey should be distinguished from satellite imagery technologies because of its better resolution, quality and atmospheric conditions.
Today, aerial survey is sometimes recognized as a synonym for aero photogrammetry, part of photogrammetry where the camera is placed in the air. Measurements on aerial images are provided by photogrammetric technologies and methods. Aerial surveys can provide information on many things not visible from the ground.
L R HELICOPTERS utilizes various systems available to us to accommodate your client-specific desires.

Aerial Cleaning and De-Icing
L R HELICOPTERS can provide aerial cleaning and de-icing for power lines and wind turbines, utilizing single or multiengine aircraft, single pilot or multi crew configuration to comply with safety and regulatory requirements.
Routine cleaning of power line insulators and wind turbines significantly enhances power transmission and prevents flashovers and other mechanical issues resulting in brownouts or blackouts. Helicopter aerial cleaning services provide numerous advantages to utilities operators over conventional cleaning methods, including reduced operator fatigue, improved safety, and substantial increase in the number of towers cleaned per day.
What We Offer
There has been much discussion around the topic of ice build-up on wind turbines, particularly those close to civilization. As with any structure, under the right atmospheric conditions, ice can build-up over a period of time. While the accumulation of ice is highly dependent on weather conditions and the turbines operational state, this build-up can lead to potential risks as the ice melts.
Any ice that has gathered on the turbine and its parts can potentially dislodge due to temperature increase, wind, movement of the turbine and other external factors such as vibrations or gravity. This can lead to it being flung several hundred meters causing potential risk of damage or injury to other structures, vehicles, site personal and the general public.
